The 5D Mark III had slightly higher resolution (22MP vs 20MP), but in almost every other detail the 6Dās sensor was superior. Shadow recovery, noise, high ISO performance, color science, and dynamic range were all better than the 5D Mark III, leaving me to write that article on why I chose the 6D over the 5D Mark III.
Options. 09-25-2022 11:37 AM. Actually the 5D Mark IV has 41 AF Points at F/8 the 6D Mark II has 27 AF Points at F/8. Also does the OP need dual card slots. If they need dual card slots the 5D Mark IV is the better choice. Also the 5D Mark IV offers 4K video over 1080p video that the 6D Mark II offers.

From the Dxomark data, 6D mark ii is 0.3 stop better in ISO, 1.5 bit better in color depth, similar in dynamic range, comparing to original 6D. I took pictures for the kids, so color depth and ISO make more sense to me. I never push shadow at ISO 100, dynamic range is not important to me.
