Half-Life: Alyx has a LOT of physics going on at all times throughout the game. Sure, it looks nice, but the overall experience is heavily impacted by CPU performance. All of my CPU cores are significantly utilized by the game. Conclusion: CPU upgrade was the only thing that helped in my case. Nothing else I did affected the game's performance.
