Fenix 5 Plus Altimeter. AndyZu over 1 year ago. With my Fenix 5 Plus, the altimeter no longer works. First the values for an activity were no longer correct (deviation of 1000 hm and more) and now no height is displayed at all. I did the reset and factory settings. Is there a solution? Thanks in advance Andy. A dedicated community for Garmin

I have a Garmin Fenix 3 HR that i've exchanged four times. All four watches have had horrible issues with the altimeter and barometer. I see wild swings of altitude for no apparent issue.
I checked the Fenix 6X HR wrist sensor again today on an easy recovery run and it turned out the wrist HR values are pretty muc h useless now. See the HR sensor data in the chart. The red values are from the built-in wrist sensor of the Garmin Fenix 6X Pro device. The green values are from the Garmin HR belt captured by an old Garmin Fenix 5X
Along with cleaning the connectors, try this. With the watch not connected, hold three buttons down (light, down and start buttons) for 15-20 seconds and try charging again. 9829024 over 3 years ago +8 verified. I've done a full reset, downloaded new firmware via garmin express under instruction from garmin but it's still the same. They now say it's a software issue, no one else seems to be having this issue. I ran the chicago marathon on Sunday and my watch has given over 3000m elevation change for it. Surely it's an altimeter/barometer hardware issue?
You can manually calibrate the barometric altimeter if you know the correct elevation. Hold MENU. Select Sensors & Accessories > Altimeter. Select an option: To calibrate automatically from your GPS starting point, select Auto Cal., and select an option. To enter the current elevation manually, select Calibrate > Enter Manually.
